How to Get Your W-2 Online: ADP, Workday, Gusto and More

Most Employers Use Online HR Portals

The days of waiting for a paper W-2 in the mail are largely over. Most companies now use cloud HR platforms that give employees 24/7 access to their tax documents. Here's how to find your W-2 on the most popular platforms.

ADP (MyADP Portal)

1. Go to my.adp.com
2. Log in with your employee credentials
3. Click "Pay" → "Tax Statements"
4. Select the tax year and click "View W-2"
5. Download as PDF

Tip: If you forgot your password, use "Forgot Password" — ADP will send a reset to your work email or personal email on file.

Workday

1. Log into your company's Workday portal (usually companyname.workday.com)
2. Click on your profile → "Pay"
3. Navigate to "Tax Documents" or "Year End Tax Documents"
4. Click on the W-2 for the relevant year
5. Print or save to PDF

Gusto

1. Log in at app.gusto.com
2. Go to "Documents" in the left sidebar
3. Select "Tax Documents"
4. Download your W-2 PDF

Gusto sends email notifications when W-2s are ready, typically by January 31.

Paycom

1. Log into the Paycom Employee Self-Service portal
2. Click "Tax" → "W-2"
3. View or download for the current year

Paychex Flex

1. Go to myapps.paychex.com
2. Log in with your employee credentials
3. Navigate to "Payroll" → "W-2"
4. Click on the tax year you need

Rippling, Bamboo HR, Namely

These newer platforms all have W-2 access under the "Documents" or "Tax" section of your employee profile. Log in at your company's specific URL and look for the tax documents section.

What If I Can't Access the Portal?

If you're a former employee or can't remember your login:

• Contact your company's HR department directly — they're required to provide your W-2 by January 31
• If you used the IRS IP PIN or filed with a tax preparer, they may have a copy
• Order a transcript from the IRS at irs.gov/get-transcript
